In turn, the adventurous Active version uses some elements from SUV models with the aim of a more “hard-necked” appearance.
Electrified performance EcoBoost Hybrid: The new Ford Focus powertrain range includes electrified powertrains that promote performance, quiet operation and the renowned enjoyable driving experience that has been a primary element of Focus appeal for over 20 years. Available in versions with power of 125 PS and 155 PS, the 1.0L EcoBoost Hybrid engine It features 48-volt mild hybrid technology and an integrated belt-driven starter/generator (BISG) allowing the energy normally lost during braking and rolling to be recovered and stored in a lithium-ion battery. The system also works as a motor, providing the necessary assistance either to increase the total torque available from the engine, or to reduce the load on the engine, for the benefit of consumption.
7-speed automatic transmission powershift: In addition to the less demanding two-pedal driving experience, Ford’s dual-clutch Powershift transmission offers relentless acceleration and smooth, quick gear changes, with the ability to downshift up to three gears for instant response in the overtaking process. In the Sport Drive program, it maintains the lowest ratio for a sportier response, while offering the possibility of manual changes via paddles, which are standard on ST‑Line versions.
Eligible driving profiles: The new Ford Focus includes selectable driving profile technology that allows drivers to choose between Normal, Sport and Eco programs that can adjust the response of the accelerator pedal, EPAS electronically assisted steering and automatic transmission depending on the scenario driving. The Active models also feature both the Slippery program, which offers increased confidence on slippery surfaces, and Trail, which is designed in turn to help the vehicle maintain its momentum on rough surfaces.
Communication and entertainment system SYNC 4: The new Ford Focus enjoys all the advantages of the SYNC 4 communication and entertainment system that uses an advanced machine learning algorithm. SYNC 4 is supported by a new, 13.2-inch central touchscreen with an intuitive interface, meaning drivers can manage the apps, information or systems they want with no more than a tap or two. The new touchscreen also includes controls for functions such as heating and ventilation that were previously activated by physical buttons, resulting in a more uncluttered and minimalistic center console.
Direct access via smartphone in functions through the application FordPass: Customers can have instant access to a range of connected services in the palm of their hand via smartphone at any time. So they stay connected to their car from anywhere using features like Vehicle Status – to check fuel level, oil life and more – and Remote Start. Ford’s SecuriAlert system provides added peace of mind through vehicle sensors that monitor any attempted tampering – even if a key is used – and send alerts to the user’s mobile phone.
Unique driver assistance systems: With everyone’s comfort and safety in mind, the new Ford Focus is equipped with a rich suite of driver assistance systems. Blind Spot Assist extends the functionality of the Blind Spot Information System by monitoring the driver’s blind spots for vehicles approaching from behind. The new Intersection Assist uses the front camera in conjunction with radar to monitor the road for impending collisions with oncoming vehicles in parallel lanes.
Also available is Local Hazard Information which informs drivers of a dangerous situation on the road, even if the incident is not visible due to a bend in the road or other vehicles. In addition, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Speed Sign Recognition and Lane Centering are offered, while Pre-Collision Assist with Active Braking helps drivers avoid or limit the impact of collisions with vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists. Active Park Assist 2 controls gear selection, acceleration and braking, enabling fully automated parking maneuvers at the touch of a button.
Intense emotions and unparalleled performance with the new Focus ST: The Focus ST is powered by Ford’s 2.3L EcoBoost petrol engine, which produces 280PS and 420Nm and is supported by a twin-scroll turbocharger and anti-lag technology. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard and comes with rev-matching technology. Other high-performance driving technologies include an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, while Continuously Controlled Damping is available, which in turn monitors data from the steering, braking, suspension and body systems 500 times per second to adjust shock damping. .
