A controversial message is sent by Minsk while remaining firmly on the side of Moscow, which has reinforced in the last hours the missile attacks against Ukraine. “We don’t want war, but don’t provoke us” said the Belarusian Defense Minister, according to his country’s media.
«All we are saying is this: Don’t provoke us, we will not declare war on you. We don’t want to fight against the Lithuanians, nor the Poles, especially the UkrainiansViktor Kerin argued.
He also warned the West about any “provocative moves” saying: “if you don’t want war with us, then we don’t want war against you»…
It is recalled that earlier Alexander Lukashenko raised his voice, accusing Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine that they were preparing “terrorist” attacks and a “military uprising” in Belarus, hours after he announced the deployment of a “regional” military strike force jointly with Moscow.
“The training in Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine of militants, including Belarusian radicals, to carry out sabotage, terrorist acts and military insurrection in the country, turns into an immediate threat,” he said during a meeting with military officials, accusing the EU and the US of seeking to “exacerbate the situation”.
Earlier, Lukashenko accused Ukraine of preparing an attack on Belarus and that, as a result, Minsk will develop a joint military strike force of Russian and Belarusian troops, without specifying where this would take place.
