German coach Thomas Tuchel is facing visa issues after being sacked by Chelsea, British reports say.
THE Thomas Tuchel who was dismissed from Chelsea earlier this month, after a poor start to the season and losing 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb on September 6th proving to be his last game in charge, he now has problem with his stay in England.
The German manager still lives near the Blues’ Cobham training ground and his daughters go to school in Surrey. However, according to «The Telegraph»is not sure when he has to leave the UK due to Brexit rules.
He took over the reins of the London team in January 2021 and arrived on a visa for the approval of the Governing Body after the Brexit. Chelsea had to make a special application to allow Tuchel and his staff access to the country following the changes brought about by the UK’s departure from the European Union. It is said that he could stay on the Island for 90 days, but there has been no official confirmation from the relevant parties such as the FA or the Home Office.
Talks are ongoing and Tuchel, who says he is “happy” in the UK, is still weighing up his options for the future given the uncertain situation. A spokesman for the coach told the Telegraph: “We will act in accordance with UK rules and adjust all future plans. The final decisions have not been made yet.”
The experienced technician has been in the report of Bayern Munich and Juventus who so far in the season show disappointing results under Nagelsmann and Allegri respectively.
