Xpeng X2, the autonomous electric air taxiwas presented in Dubai, making a demonstration of its capabilities.
In addition to its purely electric vehicles, the Xpeng has also invested in the creation of electric vehiclesvertical landing which can fly autonomously, without the presence of a pilot.
The X2, what is the name of the aircraft created by Xpeng Aeroht (the division the company has established for this purpose), was presented at the GITEX Global technology exhibition held in Dubai. However, theair taxi was not only a static exhibit there but showed its capabilities to visitors by taking its first public flight.
After securing special permission from the Emirates Civil Aviation Authority, company officials scheduled the X2 to fly into the forecourt of the World Trade Center facility.without a pilot in it.
The flying machine is a two-seater and made of carbon fiber to be as light and durable as possible. It was the first time the octocopter flew outside of China and was evaluated by representatives of another country’s Civil Aviation Authority. According to what was known, was evaluated and the faithful adherence to the rules of safe flight and the stability during it were assessed.
The X2 is in its fifth generation, in terms of its evolution process. According to the folks at Xpeng Aeroht, the next it will also have wheels to be able to move on the road as well, fulfilling the “flying vehicle” concept.
