The 4-month-old infant who is intubated at the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital remains in critical condition after an incident of domestic violence.
Doctors are doing everything they can to keep alive the child, who arrived at the hospital with symptoms of “concussion syndrome”.

According to information, the little girl’s condition is extremely difficult as the tests she underwent showed that she has severe brain injuries and bruises all over her body from her father’s violent behavior.
He admitted to violently shaking the baby
At the same time, the police authorities are also dealing with the case as the father confessed that he was the one responsible for the child’s health condition.
In fact, the 20-year-old foreigner is being held at the Messinia Police Department, as a case has been filed against him for domestic violence, and on Monday morning he is expected to be brought before the Kyparissia prosecutor’s office.
The infant was initially taken to the Kyparissia hospital by his parents, but the doctors advised them to take him to Kalamata.
The seriousness of the incident made the doctors of the Kalamata hospital judge that there was a need for immediate intubation of the infant, something that could only be done in Athens, with the child being transported by EKAV ambulance.
At the same time, the doctors informed the Kalamata Police, as the incident had indications of domestic violence towards the child.
After the infant and the parents arrived in Athens, the couple was brought to the police station. There the father admitted that when he got irritated by the baby’s crying and shook it violently, while his wife was away at work.
They found cannabis and a gun
The police officers of the Messinia Security Service also carried out a house search at the family’s house, with the findings impressing them.
Specifically, a cannabis plant, a handgun and illegally possessed bullets were found.
The father was arrested for attempted murder of his child, domestic violence, under the Drugs and Weapons Act, while the mother was charged with possession of the drugs and the gun – as these were jointly owned in their home.
Both parents will be brought before the prosecutor of Kyparissias on Monday morning.
