Before AMG was bought by Mercedes, it was one of its independent model improvers.
This AMG-enhanced Mercedes-Benz S-Class (1991) is the grandfather of the modern S63.
The older its models are(especially since her independent era) so desirable they become, as the of 1991 auctioned by “The MB Market”, having OEM (Original Equipped Manufactured) quality bodykit and improved performance.
The car delivered to Japan in 1991, (the last year of production for the W126 generation) before being replaced by the more modern W140. It is not clear whether the conversion AMG was made immediately after the purchase or at a later date, but the complete model… came to the US in 2018 and it has 72,945 km.
The 560SEL was originally painted in Pearl Black, but later it was repainted in Astral Silver, contrasting with the black leather interior. Most importantly, the body-kitremains in excellent condition, incl of the sports bumpers in the body color, of the extensions at sills and the rear spoiler. The model has also AMG Aero III alloy wheels by OZ racing and double tailpipes at the rear, which the stand out from any other S-Class of the same era.
The S-Class may be four decades old, but as a Mercedes flagship, it comes with one luxurious and well appointed interior. The seats with leather upholstery is heated (front and back), with electric settings and memory function for the driver’s seat, automatic climate control, electric sunroof and cruise control.
There is Burl wood trim on the dashboard, center console and doors, with wooden additives parts added by AMG, including gear selector and folding tables on the backs of the seats. Finally, the logo heron the Momo steering wheelthe dashboard with speedometer of 300 km/h and the metal plate in center console let you know what’s under the hood.
Speaking of the engine, it’s a modified V8 which was upgraded byin 6000 cc with an output of 385 hp and 556 Nm of torque. That doesn’t sound like much by today’s standards, with the previous S63 having 620bhp. Power is transmitted to the rear axle through a four-speed automatic transmission, where we meet one Torsen limited slip differential and a reinforced rear subframe. According to the ‘MB Market’ ad, the car was last serviced in 2021, with fresh fluids (oil, coolant) and brake and transmission repairs.
