Three Greek swimmers are in the Top-100 of this year’s performances in the world, according to the FINA lists as well. Of course, Apostolos Christou stands out, who with the 52.09 he scored in the 100m. backstroke, in the semi-final of the World Championship in Budapest, occupies the 5th place in this year’s ranking, at the top of which is the world record (51.60) of the Italian Tomas Ceccon, from the same event. At the same time, the Greek champion climbed to No. 13 of all time in the event.
Christou also has this year’s 14th performance in the 50m. backstroke, with the 24.36 that gave him the gold medal at the European Championships in Rome, a time that also brings him to No. 42 of all time, while he is 26th this year in the 200m. backstroke, thanks to the Panhellenic record (1:56.70) he set in the Panhellenic Championship.

Kristian Golomeev closed the season with a top performance in the 50m. freestyle in 21.75, which gave him the bronze medal at the Europeans in Rome and brings him to 36th place of the year. Overall, the athlete of Akis Oikonomou is at No. 69 of all time, with the 21.44 he has done since 2018, at the European Championships in Glasgow.
Finally, Anna Dountounaki’s name appears twice in this year’s Top-100, as the Chanio swimmer is 55th in the 50m. butterfly with 25.83 and 69th in the 100m. butterfly with 57.91 (times he set at the European Championships in Rome). Marginally outside the top 100 (102nd place) is the performance of Dimitris Markos in the 1,500m. freestyle (15:14.11 in Rome).
