Having to beat Leverkusen tomorrow (26/10, 22:00) to hope to stay in the Champions League knockout race, Atletico Madrid are “used to” having their backs against the wall, Diego Simeone said today.
“The players are used to these kinds of matches. It’s not that different from what we experience all the time in La Liga or Europe. We always have the obligation to win,” said the Argentine coach of Atletico Madrid.

The match between Brugge and Porto earlier (19:45) could give the Spaniards signs about their future even before their match kicks off. “We have to get a good result. So whatever happens in the game before won’t change what we already have in mind for our game. I feel the team is progressing. I like. I hope we can show it tomorrow,” said Simeone.
For Bayer coach, the Spaniard Xabi Alonso, Simeone emphasized: “He was an excellent player, a footballer of enormous class. He works with great enthusiasm and dedication. He knows very clearly how he wants his team to play.”
“It’s a final. A very important match. We know that when we have to push, everyone is more focused, everyone gives everything. I hope it goes well,” Yannick Carrasco added at the press conference.
