Gudrun Sjödén is leaving her fashion group after almost 50 years. It reportswhich in several articles reviewed misconduct at the clothing giant – one of Sweden’s largest fashion exporters.
“Now I am leaving as an employee my company after almost 50 years”, writes Gudrun Sjödén on Instagram and she states that the reason she is leaving is “all the hard months since Expressen’s media attack in April”.
In Expressen’s review from last spring, about 20 current and former employees in the company testified about bullying, threats, violations and racism. Afterwards, the company was audited by the Swedish Work Environment Authority, which, among other things, assessed that there was a risk that abusive treatment would occur in the future.
In 1976, Gudrun Sjödén opened her first store, with the same name, on Regeringsgatan in Stockholm. The clothes are sold today via the web, catalog and stores in more than 70 countries.
