Handelsbanken reintroduces interest on savings accounts
After Tuesday’s sharp increase in the policy rate, Handelsbanken is also raising several deposit rates. Among other things, the bank reintroduces interest on the savings account.
The Riksbank announced on Tuesday thatto 1.75 percent. The forecast is also that the interest rate will continue to rise in the coming six months.
Directly after announcedthat they are raising the interest on several of their accounts, according to a press release. Among other things, it is reintroduced in the savings account, where the interest rate is set at 0.50 percent.
“We are in a period of increasingly high interest rates. Our interest rates are governed by market interest rates and by the competitive situation. Our ambition is to have a long-term competitive offer to our customers. We therefore continuously review both our deposit and lending rates,” says Anna Possne, head of products and offers at Handelsbanken, in a comment.
The interest rate is also increased on the bank’s so-called futures account and e-capital account. The changes come into effect on September 30.
Handelsbanken’s mortgage institute Stadshypotek has raised its list rates during the year as a response to the interest rate increases. A loan with a five-year commitment period costs Stadshypotek 4.38 percent, and one with a ten-year commitment period 4.44 percent.
