More than 700,000 citizens have registered with the new institution of the personal doctor through the pharmacies since the afternoon of last Thursday, September 8, reports the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association (PFS).
“Pharmacies with a clear will to respond directly and safely to the needs and goals of the state and EODY, have made a decisive contribution to the management of the pandemic and are already successfully managing a series of electronic applications that serve the transition to digital management and utilization of health data, since the over-the-counter pharmacist actively participates:
– on the platform for registering the vaccination appointment for COVID-19,
– in the registration in the national covid-19 patient registry of the result of the rapid antigen detection test for the coronavirus carried out in the pharmacy,
– to the registration in the national vaccination register of the flu vaccination carried out in the pharmacy,
– while he had already successfully handled the platform for the distribution of self-tests to beneficiaries during the pandemic”.
The PFS also highlights the contribution of pharmacies to the strengthening of the Health System through the availability of pharmaceuticals, scientific advice, patient compliance with medication. Now, pharmacies are moving into a new era with an emphasis on health services and pharmaceutical care, always within the framework of their operation as Primary Health Care units, his announcement emphasizes.
“The State now owes to the new scenario that is taking shape in Health after the pandemic, to resolve the institutional problems of the sector, to institutionalize actions and services that are already provided, for the benefit of the citizens and the health system”, concludes the PFS.
