The next generation of the supermini will be purely electric and will be manufactured in a Renault factory.
It is expected to be revealed within 2023 successor to the Micrain order to be released on European roads in 2024. H Nissan announced last January that its model replacement will be based on the CMF B-EV platform of Alliance and therefore it will be purely electric.
The new electric city vehicle will be designed by Nissan, but Renault will be responsible for its development and production. The successor to the Micra (it is unknown if it will retain this name) will be manufactured at the Renault ElectriCity plant complex in the north of France. Annual electric vehicle production capacity will reach 400,000 units in 2025.
The electric Nissan will share technology with the electric Renault 5 (As the 136 hp electric motor), which will have a retro design. According to information, the low weight of the electric Nissan combined with the efficient drive system will allow it to travel about 400 km on a single charge. If this is confirmed, the electric Nissan will also be able to be used outside the city, giving it an advantage over the competition.
As for its price, Nissan – like other companies – will try to launch it under 25,000 euros.
