the president of Cevisama, Manuel Ruberthas announced his resignation already planned since last summer and that he has decided with the will to make way for “new generations” and “new ideas» for the fair of the ceramic sector.
Until now, he has held the position at the proposal of the Spanish Association of Ceramic Tile and Pavement Manufacturers (ascer) since October 214. His departure coincides with a crisis in the sector due to energy costs, for an industry with large consumption needs for its activity.
In a statement, Rubert estimates that after having communicated his desire to resign last July to the president of Ascer, Vicente Nomdedu, and the CEO of Valencia Fair, Enrique Sotoand after the reflection time requested by them, it is time to officially end their mission.
He considers that six years at the head of the event is “more than enough time to add experience and value to a project”, and is convinced that in this new stage, after the parentheses suffered, “it is the ideal time to make way for new generations and new ideas that lead Cevisama’s project for the future”.
As Rubert explained, over the years he has devoted a lot of time and effort to promoting the fair, “for the benefit of the fair itself and also of the Spanish ceramic sector”. «I have done it by the hand of a extraordinary team, whom I have to thank for their collaboration and professionalism, especially the director of Cevisama, Carmen Alvarez“, has added.
Positive management balance
He has described the results of the work carried out as “satisfactory”. In this regard, he highlights that in 215 he began the presidency of Cevisama with an offer of exhibitors which occupied about 4, square meters, and in 22, the last edition that was held, that figure exceeded 6, square meters.
As far as visitors are concerned, the boost and internationalization of demand has been highlighted. Thus, in 215 there were 75, visits and in Cevisama 22 the 9,, of which more than 21, corresponded to foreign professionals -compared to the 13,8 foreign visits registered six years earlier.
Rubert has indicated that, “with the satisfaction of these results and the conviction of having given everything in this task”, he leaves the position of president of Cevisama and wishes “the greatest success” and offers all the necessary collaboration to his successor.
