Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had meetings with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, the Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciucă and the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić in Sofia.
The prime minister discussed with them, on the sidelines of the ceremony for the start of commercial operation of the Greece-Bulgaria gas interconnector (IGB).

According to government sources, during the meeting with Mr. Radev, the excellent level of Greek-Bulgarian relations was established and the common will was expressed for their further deepening and upgrading, with an emphasis on infrastructure connectivity programs, especially in the energy sector.
In the meeting with the Prime Minister of Romania, the will of both sides was confirmed to further strengthen the already excellent bilateral relations, while emphasis was placed on the strengthening of energy cooperation. In his contacts, Kyriakos Mitsotakis underlined the strategic role of our country in the energy security and supply of the region, due to its location and the infrastructures it develops, which become even more important as the consequences of the energy crisis caused by the Russian invasion are felt in Ukraine.
In the meeting with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, the two leaders praised the contribution of the IGB’s work to the diversification of energy sources and routes and overall to the energy security of the region, confirming the common intention to improve connectivity in Southeast Europe, with a focus on infrastructure . During the meeting, the excellent relations between Greece and Serbia were confirmed and a common will was expressed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the economic, commercial, tourism and energy sectors.
