Recently, Victoria’s Secret has selected “Never Have I Ever” star, Darren Barnet, as the first male ambassador of her brand. Barnet, who plays Paxton Hall-Yoshida in the popular Netflix series, appears in the latest campaign for the VS ‘Pink brand, with sporty styles from the new “Gender Free” collection.
VS’Pink CEO Amy Hauk said in a press release:
We are very excited to announce this partnership because Darren is such a positive role model for teens and young adults. As we focus on expanding our gender-free offerings and continuing to evolve as a brand, we want to ensure that our partners not only represent the diversity of our customers, but also embody individuality and self-confidence.
The Netflix star joins other Pink ambassadors, including Chloe x Halle and social media star Remi Bader. Victoria’s Secret also recently introduced TikTok superstar Emira D’Spain as the first transgender colored model to work with the lingerie brand.
Barnet will promote future launches, as well as participate in various activities that support the brand’s core initiatives, as part of Pink’s ongoing commitment to inclusiveness, promoting positive mental health, and empowering young adults.
Barnet himself wrote on Instagram what this collaboration means to him…
I can finally share the news! I am honored to join @vspink as a brand ambassador! I will assist in launching new styles in their genderless collection, while supporting their initiatives in empowering young adults and raising mental health awareness. I’m very excited to share some of these new styles, but I’m even more thankful I can be part of a good cause. I would like mental health to be more focused when I was a teenager and my hope is that we will be listened to and supported more.
