European households may freeze this winter, even if stocks natural gas in the reservoirs are too high, its head warned Gazprom.
Alexei Miller, speaking at Russian Energy Week, noted that an unusual wave of low temperatures in winter, lasting even five days, is capable of freezing entire cities.

Citing analysis, he said that during peak demand days, Europe could be deprived of around 800 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
“It is clear that the energy crisis in Europe will not last a short period of time,” said Miele, expressing his belief that in the coming winters Europe will find it difficult to bring its reserves to the same level. He even mentioned that the natural gas that Germany has in its underground storage tanks is sufficient for 2-2.5 months.
