The name of the party of Uddhav Thackeray faction will be ‘Shiv Sena- Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’. The Election Commission (ECI) has allotted the Flaming Torch symbol for the upcoming assembly elections under an interim order to the Uddhav Thackeray faction. After this decision of the Election Commission, Uddhav Thackeray faction leader Bhaskar Jadhav said that we are happy considering it as a big victory.

The Election Commission has asked the Shinde faction to give a list of 3 new symbols by tomorrow, October 11.
Shiv Sena’s election symbol was frozen
In the midst of the ongoing controversy in the party, the Election Commission on Saturday (October 8) had frozen the symbol of Shiv Sena’s bow and arrow. The Commission had banned both the parties from using the party’s name and the election symbol ‘arrow-command’ in the upcoming by-election to the Andheri (East) assembly seat on November 3.

After this, the Election Commission (ECI) had asked both the groups to tell about three new names and symbols for their respective parties. The symbols of ‘Trishul’, ‘Mashal’ and ‘Ugta Suraj’ were given to the Election Commission on behalf of the Uddhav Thackeray faction. Also, as the name of the party, options were given as ‘Shiv Sena (Balasaheb Thackeray)’, ‘Shiv Sena (Prabodhankar Thackeray)’ or ‘Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray)’.
