Victory in the first leg of the semifinals: Liverpool FC and Jürgen Klopp can dream of four titles this season
Liverpool FC deservedly won the first leg of the semi-finals in the Champions League against FC Villareal. The “Reds” can win four titles this year.
Liverpool FC have taken a big step towards the Champions League final. The team of ex-BVB coach Jürgen Klopp won the semi-final first leg in their home stadium on Anfield Road (51,586 spectators) 2-0 (0-0) against FC Villareal from Spain on Wednesday evening.
The Reds took a lucky but well-deserved lead in the 53rd minute when Pervis Estupinan’s own goal deflected a cross from Mohamed Salah into his own goal. Liverpool FC was able to increase this to the final score just two minutes later with a right-footed shot from around 16 meters by Sadio Mané. The Premier League club missed a number of other great opportunities during the game.

League rivals Manchester City or Spanish representatives Real Madrid are now waiting in the final. The first leg ended 4: 3 for Manchester City on Tuesday evening, the second leg will follow next Wednesday (9 p.m.). In 2005 and 2019, Liverpool FC had already won the premier class in European football.
The final of the soccer Champions League will be held on May 28th in the Stade de France in Paris. It was originally scheduled to take place in Saint Petersburg but was moved to the French capital by Uefa due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The German representatives in the current season failed in the preliminary round (RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, VfL Wolfsburg) and in the quarter-finals (Bayern Munich).
