Borussia Mönchengladbach: Matthias Ginter apparently before returning to SC Freiburg
Big clubs are said to be on Matthias Ginter’s turn – but he is said to be surprised with the choice of his next club: It’s probably going back to Freiburg.
Matthias Ginter is apparently about to return to SC Freiburg. According to the picture, the transfer of the 28-year-old DFB defender from Borussia Mönchengladbach could be announced in the near future.
Ginter’s contract in Gladbach expires at the end of the season, so no fee would be due in the event of a transfer. Most recently, Inter Milan and AstonVilla traded as potential buyers.
Ginter in Freiburg the Schlotterbeck replacement?
Born in Freiburg, he comes from the SC youth and played in Breisgau from 2005 to 2014. Ginter once celebrated his Bundesliga debut under SC coach Christian Streich. From 2014 to 2017 he played for Borussia Dortmund before moving to Gladbach.
In Freiburg, Ginter could succeed Nico Schlotterbeck, who will move to Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
