Germany’s national team players will each receive €400,000 if they win the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, the country’s football federation (DFB) has announced, following an agreement reached on the tournament’s bonuses.
The reward for winning the title has increased from the €350,000 set at the previous tournament in 2018, when Germany were eliminated in the first round. When the “punchers” celebrated the title at the World Cup in Brazil in 2014, the players received a bonus of 300,000 euros each.

Qualifying from the group stage in Qatar will earn each player €50,000, while a place in the quarter-finals will make them €100,000 richer.
In the event that they make it to the top four, each international will receive 150,000 euros, while winning third place will increase their bank accounts by 200,000 euros (each). Defeat in the final will be rewarded with a bonus of 250,000 euros.
Germany, struggling to make amends for their dismal performance in 2018, have been drawn in Group 5 with Spain, Costa Rica and Japan. The tournament starts on 20 November and Germany’s opener against Japan is set for 23/11.
