The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport emphasized that the new line will move 130,000 people daily.
The importance of its expansionto , as today the last three stations were handed over to the passenger public, Maniatika, Piraeus, Municipal Theatre, highlighted by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. speaking on the main news bulletin of ERT1.
“We reckon they will move 130,000 people daily at the six stations of the extension in Piraeus, because as you remember we delivered three stations in operation in 2020. Therefore, this project essentially helps Piraeus to become a more humane city. It helps a lot to solve an intense, saturated, traffic problem, which we have in Athens and Piraeus”, emphasized Mr. Karamanlis.
He reiterated that many Governments contributed to this project, but noted that the procedures with the current Government were accelerated. He reminded that in 2020 at his station Piraeus “there were not even betas yet.”
The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport also reminded that his expansion Subway to Piraeus started during Govt Samara – Venizelou, describing it as out of place that PASOK did not mention this either.
Mr. Karamanlis spoke of a very important moment, as he pointed out: “We are connecting its center of Athens with the port in 20 minutes. We connect it airport with the port. Land, air and sea transport are linked.’
THE Minister of Infrastructure and Transport emphasized that the Government has a very specific plan of combined and many different projects to deal with the traffic problem. He stated that in addition to completing its expansion Subway to Piraeus, the construction of Line 4 of the Metro is progressing, considering that the reactions concern “a minority, not residents of Exarchia, but around Exarchia, who create problems” and stressing that the Government with determination, with composure and with a very strong will, is doing the obvious.
She also referred to her important work undergrounding her Heliopolis, which will provide a solution for the road connection from the airport and the center of Athens to Greek. But also in the extension of Kymi Avenue, which is an extension of it Attica Road.
“We all know that the Kimis on her way out Transformation. Mr. Karamanlis also commented: “I will tell you something that shows the change in mentality and culture. Regarding the presence of the former Prime Minister, Mr. Antonis Samaras, at the inauguration of the three stations today, Mr. Karamanlis revealed that he had invited Mr. Christos Spirtzis as a representative of SYRIZA, who had initially replied that he would attend.
“We had invited representatives of all parties. We do not make these divisions, but we feel proud as a faction.
